Tread Lightly

Original Project Overview
The Scavenger has been chosen to travel beyond the Warren walls. The Scavenger must trek across through the castle ruins in order to bring much needed food back to the starving town of the Warren. What lays before him is a treacherous waste overtaken by abominations unseen.
Tread lightly oh small one...
Tread Lightly is a Side Scroller Horror-Platformer made in Unreal Engine 5. Tread Lightly was initially developed over the course of 10 weeks by a team of 4 and was an experimental foray into the power of Unreal Engine 5's Nanite and Lumen features in conjunction with the Quixel Photogrammetry Library.
Tread Lightly was Demonstrated at GDC 2023.
Redesign
Following GDC, Tread Lightly resumed development as a solo project.
This second round of development was undertaken in order to polish and refine the gameplay which previously lacked context and cohesion.
This was accomplished by following a design philosophy that ties Mechanics to Design, Design to the Narrative, and Narrative to Mechanics.
